British Library picks Total Media for planning account
MARKETING WEEK 14.12.06
The British Library has appointed Total Media to handle its planning and buying account.
It is understood that two undisclosed agencies were also involved in the pitch, which was handled through the Official Journal of the European Union.
Total Media will handle the media planning and buying for the library's 2007 exhibition, Sacred, which focuses on Jewish, Christian and Muslim holy texts. London-based agency Atelier Works has already been appointed to work on an advertising campaign for the project.
The library also works with integrated agency Masius to promote its business and intellectual property centre (MW November 3, 2005). It was the first time the library had appointed an advertising agency to promote its services.
The centre was opened in March this year, funded by a Elm grant from the London Development Agency (MW August 11). The facility aims to help small businesses develop and market new products.
The library, which houses the world's largest research collection, launched a range of stationery and bags based on its texts in October, in a bid to build its brand and awareness of its services. |
