John Ayling's memory appears to be playing tricks with him in his comment in your analysis piece "Media's specialist case" (AWlast week).
John suggests there are two and a half media independents today - JAA, BLM and Walker Media (the half). Both my shareholding partners are emphatic that they haven't sold the company and I'm sure I haven't done a deal. I suppose that means we are still an independent.
Willott Kingston Smith's annual financial survey of the UK's top agencies as published recently put us at 15 in the media buying agency listings although I couldn't find JAA on the table at all.
As for being half independent, isn't that like being half married?
