Media Assistant

Practical support for the media team, recognising areas where assistance can be offered and understanding (as much as possible) how this work contributes to the bigger picture.

Skills/Experience Required to Perform Role

  • A maths related degree
  • Enthusiasm for media planning and buying.
  • Excellent eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Highly numerate.
  • Well organised.
  • Good communicator (verbal and written work).
  • Computer literate (Excel, PowerPoint, word etc.)
  • Able to handle several projects at once and prioritise effectively

Account Manager

An Account Manager will oversee the team’s day to day running of client accounts, ensuring that imaginative and effective media solutions are provided with the upmost value and benefit to a clients’ business. Likely to include some Arts, Publishing, FMCG, Property and Retail accounts

Key responsibilities:

  • Ability to produce insightful research to support negotiations and planning documents.
  • Ability to spot opportunities for group buys and can handle complex package negotiations.
  • Overseeing buying of junior team members, leading by example by ensuring the upmost value is delivered across all campaigns.
  • Understands clients’ business, marketing and media objectives, thoroughly.
  • Ensures team admin is fulfilled promptly and efficiently by appropriate team members.
  • Ability to articulate convincingly and ‘sell in’ ideas.

Neccessary skills & qualifications required for role:

  • An energetic team player is essential, as is an enthusiasm for media and a desire to deliver outstanding client service.
  • Approximately 2-4 years’ experience at media planning / buying.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of all software used, including bespoke media systems.
  • Excellent eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Very capable presenter.
  • Degree educated ideally
  • Good maths and English essential

Account Handler

The successful candidate will be an ambitious media professional with planning experience, who wants to join an agency that will help them forge a great career through a best in class training programme and clear development path.  Enthusiasm and an eye for detail are essential.

Overall role/responsibility:

  • You will be a key member of the account team, planning integrated media campaigns (with some buying) and monitoring their delivery.
  • Well-structured written and verbal communication, including emails, plans and client documents.

Necessary skills and qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level (preferable)
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Approximately 12-18 months experience at media planning or planning & buying
  • Highly numerate
  • Computer literate with intermediate to advances skill in microsoft software applications. Particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Media finance applications. DDS, Media Explorer, Media Explorer Stats or equivalent
  • Media research systems – content and application. TGI, Addynamix, Brad, Mediatel, Mintel, etc
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent eye for detail and accuracy
  • Understanding of media planning and buying across a wide range of channels

TV Buyer

The TV buyer will play an integral role within the TV Team. They will take on full responsibility for buying across both national and regional TV campaigns ensuring all deal parameters and campaign KPI’s are delivered. Provide support to the senior members of the team and take an active role in the training of junior members of the team when applicable.

Overall role/responsibility

  • Buy across multiple TV (inc. VOD) campaigns ensuring they are all delivered in line with plan.
  • Negotiate on a day to day basis with media owners to deliver the campaigns in line with the plan and all agreed quality parameters.
  • Create full Post Campaign Analysis.
  • Develop and demonstrate strong rationale behind all media decisions, consistently seeking information to deliver the best results for clients.
  • Proactively seek opportunities relevant for our clients.
  • Willing to provide support and assistance to all members of the team.
  • Sales House Coordinator Role – ensuring all members of the team are kept up to date with market conditions for a particular sales house
  • contribute to the Total media company blog throughout the year.

Necessary skills & attributes

  • 2+ years’ experience as a TV/Broadcast buyer
  • Must have experience of day to day contact with sales houses and working within a team, might have had preliminary experience of training a junior member of the team and of TV planning also Media Explorer, DDS, Infosys, CARIA, Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook, Power Point
  • Evidence of good relationship building skills
  • Passionate about TV (in all its forms!)

Display Account Manager

The primary function of the position is to work alongside account teams taking new briefs for digital display activity across the agency. From these briefs the role will require innovative and effective plans to be produced and bought.

The AM will work alongside a display executive to ensure that campaigns are trafficked and reported on providing clarity of performance to all clients along with future recommendations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading digital display planning across the agency
  • Rate negotiation:  Working with Head of Performance to negotiate agency buying rates across key publishers and ensuring all media plans are competitive against the market
  • Leading innovation in digital display – being aware of all opportunities in the market and knowing when to apply them
  • Working with Head of Performance to ensure smooth running of the team
  • Managing integration of display planning with all other comms via the media teams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
