We re excited to announce our two additions to the board as James Cowing steps up to Chief Financial Officer and Sue Shaw joins as Non-Exec Chief People Officer. Our new board members signify our commitment to people and in driving long-term sustainable growth.
James joined us all the way back at the start of 2008 and has successfully worked his way up from Financial Assistant to CFO, acquiring chartered ACCA qualification en route. His primary focus is to maximise efficiency and effectiveness with the aim to improve profitability and process. James will be the driving force in shaping our financial strategies, ensuring stability to align with ambitious plans for continued growth.
Sue joins our board as Non-Exec Chief People Officer, having spent the last two years offering us senior level HR Consultancy through her company, JourneyHR.
This is the first time we have appointed a People Director to the board. Sue brings more than 20 years’ experience working at a strategic level with agency leaders to create great places to work through building inclusive and fulfilling company cultures. Sue will be focusing on the roll-out of the innovative EDI health check and survey she has developed, a comprehensive tool that evaluates every facet of the employee experience.
On the new appointments, our CEO Guy Sellers said “we have grown rapidly over the past three years and our operations are scaling to match and overtake the ambition. We bade a very fond farewell to our long-term FD, Daniel D’Mello, on his retirement earlier this year and are delighted to elevate James Cowing, TMG-developed senior talent, to the CFO role. Total Media has long fostered a people-first ethos, evidenced by our 85% staff retention rate which we look forward to developing further under Sue Shaw’s leadership as CPO.”
